Your first bulk label change with Page Sweep

Confluence edits labels one page at a time. Page Sweep adds or removes labels on many pages at once, for a whole space or for the pages under one parent page. It shows each page's labels now and after the change before it writes anything. Four steps. Nothing changes until you press Apply and confirm.

Anyone can open the app and do a dry run. Only a Confluence site administrator can apply a change.

Install

Install Page Sweep for Confluence from the Atlassian Marketplace. Choose your Confluence site.

You’ll see: Page Sweep in the Apps menu. Applying changes needs an active license. Without one the app is read-only: the dry run still works.

  1. 1Open the app

    Click Apps and then Page Sweep.

    You’ll see: two tabs, Scope and Jobs. The Scope tab has the form for the dry run.

  2. 2Choose the pages

    Under Scope (dry run), pick a Space. To cover only part of the space, paste a Parent page ID: the app then covers the pages below that page, at any depth, and not the parent page itself. You can also type a word in Title contains. It ignores upper and lower case.

    You’ll see: nothing yet. Leave Parent page ID empty to cover every page in the space. The ID is the number in the page address, /pages/123456/Page-title.

  3. 3Type the labels and run the dry run

    Type the Labels to add and the Labels to remove, separated by commas. Click Dry run.

    You’ll see: under Scan results, a table with one row per page: Title, Current labels and Labels after change. The dry run only reads. No page has changed. Type in Filter by title to find a row. The filter only changes what you see; Apply covers every page in the table.

  4. 4Apply the change

    ① Click Apply to N page(s)… under the table. ② Click Apply in the dialog.

    You’ll see: the dialog lists what will be added and removed. The app switches to the Jobs tab. The job shows Done and Failed counts and a progress bar. Click Show log for one line per page, newest first, up to 400 lines. If some pages failed, a red notice says how many and why.

To undo a change

A finished job is not undone automatically.

Check the dry run table before you apply. After the run, open the Jobs tab and click Show log. The log shows the newest 400 lines, one per page. For a job over 400 pages, the dry run table you applied from lists every page Apply covered. To bring a label back, add it to those pages by hand. On a page that failed, some labels may already have changed, because labels are added before they are removed.

What it does not do

  • It covers pages only, not blog posts.
  • The job runs with your permissions. A page you cannot edit counts as a failure, and the job goes on with the other pages.
  • One change covers up to 5,000 pages. If the scan is bigger, narrow the scope with a parent page or a title filter and scan again.
  • A scan result older than 24 hours must be run again before you can apply it.
  • A label name cannot hold a space or any of these characters: : ; , . ? & [ ] ( ) # ^ * @ ! ' ". The same label cannot be in both lists.
  • It does not move, copy or delete pages.
  • Without an active license the app is read-only.

More answers

I can’t find the app.

Click Apps in Confluence. If Page Sweep is not there, ask a Confluence administrator whether it is installed on this site.

The Apply button is grey.

It turns on after a dry run that listed at least one page, when at least one label is typed and every label name is valid. A site without an active license cannot apply, and neither can a person who is not a Confluence site administrator. The app shows Apply is admin-only or Read-only mode in that case. It also stays grey while results are loading, and when the scan result is older than 24 hours.

The dry run listed no pages.

Check the space, the parent page ID and the title filter. A parent page ID from another space is refused. If every page failed to load, a red notice above the table says why.

Who can see the app and who can apply?

Anyone can open it and do a dry run, with their own permissions. Only a Confluence site administrator can apply or resume a label-change job.

A job stopped halfway.

Open the Jobs tab and click Resume on the job. Labels that are already in place are left as they are.

Does my content leave my site?

No. Page Sweep runs on Atlassian (a Forge app) and does not send your content outside Atlassian. It reads page IDs, titles and labels, not page bodies. Job records stay in Forge storage in your site’s Atlassian data region and are deleted 30 days after the job finishes. Details: Privacy Policy.

Confluence のラベルは 1 ページずつしか編集できません。Page Sweep は、スペース全体、または 1 つの親ページの配下にある複数のページに、ラベルをまとめて付け外しします。書き込む前に、各ページの今のラベルと変更後のラベルを見せます。4 ステップです。適用を押して確定するまで何も変わりません。

アプリを開いてドライランまでは誰でもできます。変更の適用は Confluence のサイト管理者だけです。

インストール

Atlassian Marketplace から Page Sweep for Confluence をインストールします。Confluence のサイトを選びます。

こう見えます: アプリのメニューに Page Sweep が出ます。変更の適用には有効なライセンスが必要です。ないときは読み取り専用になり、ドライランは使えます。

  1. 1アプリを開く

    アプリを押して、Page Sweep を押します。

    こう見えます: Scope とジョブの 2 つのタブ。Scope のタブにドライランのフォームがあります。

  2. 2対象のページを選ぶ

    スコープ（ドライラン）でスペースを選びます。スペースの一部だけにするときは親ページ IDを貼ります。その場合、そのページの配下のページが何階層下でも対象になり、親ページ自身は対象になりません。タイトルの部分一致に語を入れて絞ることもできます。大文字小文字は区別しません。

    こう見えます: まだ何も出ません。親ページ IDを空にすると、スペースの全ページが対象です。ID はページのアドレスにある数字です: /pages/123456/ページ名。

  3. 3ラベルを入れてドライランをする

    追加するラベルと削除するラベルを、カンマで区切って入れます。ドライランを押します。

    こう見えます: 走査結果の下に、1 ページ 1 行の表。タイトル、現在のラベル、変更後のラベルです。ドライランは読み取るだけで、ページは変わっていません。タイトルで絞り込みに入力すると行を探せます。この絞り込みは表示だけを変えます。適用の対象は、表にある全ページです。

  4. 4変更を適用する

    ① 表の下のN 件に適用…を押します。② 確認の画面で適用するを押します。

    こう見えます: 確認の画面に、追加するラベルと削除するラベルが出ます。続けてアプリがジョブのタブに切り替わります。ジョブに完了と失敗の件数と進捗バーが出ます。ログを表示を押すと、ページごとに 1 行、新しい順に最大 400 行が出ます。失敗したページがあると、何件か、なぜかが赤い通知で出ます。

変更を戻すには

終わったジョブは、自動では取り消されません。

適用の前に、ドライランの表を確かめます。実行のあとはジョブのタブでログを表示を押します。ログには新しい順に最大 400 行、ページごとに 1 行が出ます。400 ページを超えるジョブでは、適用の元にしたドライランの表に、適用が対象にした全ページが並んでいます。ラベルを戻すときは、そのページに手で付け直します。失敗したページでは、一部のラベルがすでに変わっていることがあります。ラベルは、追加してから削除するためです。

できないこと

  • 対象はページだけで、ブログ記事は対象外です。
  • ジョブはあなたの権限で動きます。編集できないページは失敗になり、ほかのページは続けて処理されます。
  • 1 回の変更は最大 5,000 ページです。走査がそれより大きいときは、親ページかタイトルの絞り込みで範囲を狭めて、もう一度走査します。
  • 24 時間より古い走査結果は、適用の前にもう一度走査が必要です。
  • ラベル名に空白と次の文字は使えません: : ; , . ? & [ ] ( ) # ^ * @ ! ' "。同じラベルを両方の欄に入れることもできません。
  • ページの移動、コピー、削除はしません。
  • 有効なライセンスがないと読み取り専用になります。

そのほかの質問

アプリが見当たりません。

Confluence でアプリを押します。Page Sweep がなければ、このサイトに入っているか Confluence の管理者に聞いてください。

適用のボタンが押せません。

ドライランで 1 ページ以上が出て、ラベルが 1 つ以上入っていて、すべてのラベル名が正しいと押せるようになります。有効なライセンスがないサイトと、Confluence のサイト管理者でない人は適用できません。そのときは適用は管理者のみまたは読み取り専用モードと出ます。結果の読み込み中と、走査結果が 24 時間より古いときも押せません。

ドライランでページが 1 つも出ません。

スペース、親ページ ID、タイトルの絞り込みを確かめます。別のスペースの親ページ ID は断られます。すべてのページの読み込みに失敗したときは、表の上に理由が赤い通知で出ます。

誰がアプリを見られて、誰が適用できますか?

開くこととドライランは、誰でも自分の権限でできます。ラベル変更のジョブの適用と再開ができるのは Confluence のサイト管理者だけです。

ジョブが途中で止まりました。

ジョブのタブで、そのジョブの再開を押します。すでに付いているラベルはそのままです。

内容がサイトの外に出ますか?

出ません。Page Sweep は Atlassian 上（Forge アプリ）で動き、内容を Atlassian の外へ送りません。読み取るのはページの ID・タイトル・ラベルで、ページ本文は読みません。ジョブの記録はサイトの Atlassian データリージョンの Forge ストレージに置かれ、ジョブ完了の 30 日後に削除されます。詳しくはプライバシーポリシー。
