How to bulk edit product SEO titles and descriptions in Wix Stores

The more products you sell, the slower it is to rewrite the title and description that show in search results one product at a time. Here is how far Wix’s own tools go, checked against Wix’s help articles, and where they stop.

Short answer

  • For one product, open it, choose Edit SEO Settings, and edit the title tag and meta description on the Basics tab. Wix suggests up to 60 characters for the title and 156 for the description *1.
  • For every product at once, use variables in SEO Settings. A rule such as “Product Name, Site Name” gives each product its own title *2. This is the closest Wix gets to bulk editing.
  • SEO Settings also has a products list (Edit by Page) where you can see every product’s title, description and indexing status. You still edit one product at a time *3.
  • You cannot do it with a CSV. Wix’s help center says SEO settings for multiple products cannot be updated by downloading and uploading a CSV (it is an open feature request) *4, and the product CSV has no SEO columns *5.
  • If you want different text for many products, a preview, and a way back, the built-in tools fall short. That is where an app helps (last section).

1. One product at a time

In your site’s dashboard open Products, click the product, and choose Edit SEO Settings. On the SEO basics tab, edit the title tag and the meta description, then click Save *1. If you write nothing, Wix builds the title from the product name and the site name, and the description from the product description *1. Menu names change, so check them in your own dashboard.

Wix suggests a title of up to 60 characters and a description of up to 156 *1. Changes do not show in search results at once; search engines update them the next time they crawl your site *6.

2. One rule for every product (variables)

One rule for every product Put variables into the default product title in SEO Settings and every product gets the same rule, each with its own title. The sources I read do not say how a default and a value typed on one product interact. Open the product defaults in SEO Settings Marketing & SEO, SEO Tools, SEO Settings, Products Put variables in the title and description For example: Product Name, Site Name Every product gets its own title Which wins is not stated in the guide

Variables let you “apply the same logic to a whole section of your site without having to customize each page individually” *2. The product variables are Product Name, Product Description, Product SKU, Product Brand, Product Price, Product Currency, Product Availability, Main Product Image and Product URL. Setting “Product Name, Site Name” gives “Product 1, My Site”, “Product 2, My Site”, and so on *2.

According to Wix’s SEO guide the place is Marketing & SEO, SEO Tools, SEO Settings, then Products and the Edit by Page tab. The info icon on the title tag or meta description column header opens a Customize default link for the site-wide default *3. The guide does not say whether a value set on a single product overrides that default. I did not open this screen myself, so if a name differs, search Wix’s help for it.

Where it falls short: variables produce text of the same shape. They will not give you a description written for each product. To go back to the default, delete the field’s content and save *2.

3. Review in the products list (Edit by Page)

The same Edit by Page tab lists each product with its URL, title tag, meta description and whether it can be indexed. You can search and sort it, and the three dots on a row open Edit *3. The table is for looking; editing happens in the panel, one product at a time. It is still useful for spotting products with no SEO text or with the same title.

4. A CSV does not work

Wix’s product export and import (More Actions, Import, Export Products) works for fields such as prices and stock *5. But Wix’s help center states that SEO settings for multiple products cannot be updated by downloading and then uploading a CSV, and the page is a feature request collecting votes *4. The column list of the product CSV has no SEO title or description either.

Where the built-in tools stop (my reading)

One option: our own app

One last mention, since we make it: Product SEO Bulk Editor is a Wix app for the case above. You enter your shop name and a title and description template (product name, shop name, brand, category and description are available), and a table shows each product’s current text beside the new text, with length bars. You tick the products to change, and only those are updated. Each run can be undone later (the last 10 runs, or from a file you saved), and products someone else edited since are skipped, not overwritten. Only the title and description change; customer and order data are not read. The screen is in English and Japanese. Free covers 20 products per run; Pro has no per-run limit. Check the listing for the price.

This page and the app are not affiliated with Wix; Wix screen names can change.

Questions

Can I bulk edit product SEO in Wix Stores?

For one rule across every product, use variables in SEO Settings. I did not find a built-in way to enter different text for many products at once.

Can I update SEO titles and descriptions with a CSV?

No. Wix’s help center says SEO settings for multiple products cannot be updated by downloading and uploading a CSV. It is an open feature request.

How long should the title and description be?

Wix’s help articles suggest up to 60 characters for the title and up to 156 for the description. These are guidelines, not limits set by Wix or Google.

Do search results change right away?

No. Search engines update them the next time they crawl your site.

Do I need an app?

No. One product at a time and a variable-based default both work without one. An app is for when you have many products and want a preview and an undo.

What I have not verified

I read the Wix help articles and SEO guides above on 2026-10-23. I did not open a Wix dashboard and click through these steps. The location of Edit by Page and Customize default comes from a guide last updated in December 2024, and the screen may differ today.

The app went live on the Wix App Market on 2026-10-23, and its description here follows its code and listing. On a development site I confirmed that one product can be rewritten and then restored; I have not confirmed that the new title shows on the public product page, that rankings improve, or that Google shows the text as written. “Where the built-in tools stop” is my reading of the articles I read.
