How to remove or replace an info section on many Wix Store products at once

You added the same info section (shipping, returns, a size chart) to hundreds of products, and now the text has to go or change. Wix lets you do this for many products at once on the newer product page, but not on the previous one. Here are the exact steps, where they stop, and how to tell which version your store has.

Short answer

  • Newer product page: select the products, then More Actions → Remove info sections removes a section from only those products [1]. To swap, remove the old one and add the new one with Add info sections.
  • Previous product page: Wix’s older article only covers adding. It says it is currently not possible to remove an info section from multiple products at once [2].
  • Deleting is global: deleting a section removes it from every product, and Wix says it cannot be re-added [1].
  • Which one is yours: Wix’s articles give a first-field check and a dashboard banner. Developers can ask the Catalog Versioning API [1] [3] [4].

The built-in steps (newer product page)

Wix’s help article “Updating Multiple Products at Once” says that if the first field you see on a product is “Images and videos”, you have the previous version; otherwise its instructions apply [1]. In the Products list of your dashboard, tick the products you want to change first, then:

Remove a section from the selected products

  1. Click More Actions and select Remove info sections.
  2. Select one or more info sections.
  3. Click Remove from Products. [1]

Replace a section with another one

The article has no “replace” button. Do it in two passes on the same selection: remove the old section as above, then add the new one [1]:

  1. Click More Actions and select Add info sections.
  2. Optional: click + New Info Section, enter a title, internal name and description, and click Save.
  3. Select the section and click Add to Products.

Change the wording of a section everywhere

  1. Click More Actions, select Add info sections, and click Edit next to the section.
  2. Make your changes, click Save, then Apply. Wix says the edits apply to every product that has this section, including products you did not select. [1]

Delete a section from the whole store

  1. Click More Actions and select Remove info sections.
  2. Click the More Actions icon next to the section, then Delete, then Delete again.
  3. Wix says the section is removed from all products and cannot be re-added. [1]

Where the built-in way stops

Catalog V1 vs Catalog V3

Wix Stores has two catalog versions [4]:

A site supports one version, never both. The two are not backwards compatible, and once a store has been upgraded to V3 it will not be downgraded [4] [5]. Wix’s help article adds that migrating an existing site is currently not possible; new sites come with the new catalog built in [3].

How to tell which one you have

  1. Look for the migration banner. Wix’s help article says to check your dashboard for a migration banner; if you do not see one, you may already be on the new catalog [3].
  2. Open a product and read the first field. Wix’s multiple-products article calls it the previous version if the first field is “Images and videos” [1]. This tells you the product page version. Wix does not say in these pages that it is the same thing as the V1/V3 catalog, so treat it as a strong hint, not proof.
  3. Developers: ask the API. The Catalog Versioning API’s GetCatalogVersion call tells you which version a site uses and takes no parameters [4]. A forum post shows a site on V1 returning V1_CATALOG [9].

Bulk tools need Catalog V3

If you want to remove or replace sections over hundreds of products without ticking rows, the building block is Wix’s API, and it sits in Catalog V3. The method Bulk Remove Info Sections From Products posts to /stores/v3/bulk/products/remove-info-sections with products (each a productId and revision) and infoSectionIds. One call takes at most 100 products and 100 info sections [6]. Info sections are assigned to products through the Products API [7].

Because V1 and V3 are not backwards compatible [4], a tool built on these V3 methods should not be assumed to work on a V1 store. Check your version first.

Questions

Can I remove an info section from many Wix Store products at once?

On the newer product page, yes. Wix’s help article describes selecting products, choosing More Actions, then Remove info sections, selecting the sections and clicking Remove from Products. On the previous product page version, Wix’s article says it is currently not possible to remove an info section from multiple products at once.

How do I replace one info section with another on many products?

Wix’s help article has no single “replace” action. Remove the old section from the selected products, then add the new one with Add info sections. If you only need to change the wording, edit the shared section: the change applies to every product that has it, including products you did not select.

What happens if I delete an info section?

Wix’s article says deleting a section removes it from all products and that it cannot be re-added. Wix’s developer docs say the same: a deleted info section is automatically removed from every product that references it. Remove it from selected products instead if you only want it gone from some.

How do I know if my store is on Catalog V1 or V3?

Wix’s help article says to look for the migration banner in your dashboard; without one you may already be on the new catalog. Wix’s article for editing many products also separates a previous version (the first field on the product page is “Images and videos”) from the newer one. Wix’s developer docs say a site is on either V1 or V3 and that the Catalog Versioning API reports which. The pages I read do not say outright that the first-field check and the V1/V3 catalog are the same thing.

Can I move my existing store to Catalog V3 myself?

Wix’s help article says it is currently not possible to migrate an existing Wix Stores site to the new product catalog, and that new sites come with it built in. Wix’s developer docs say V3 was first rolled out to new users and will replace V1 over time. Things may have changed since I read these pages.

Does a bulk tool need Catalog V3?

A tool that uses Wix’s bulk info-section API does. That method is part of the Catalog V3 API, which Wix says is not backwards compatible with V1. A single call handles up to 100 products and 100 info sections.

What I have not verified

I read the Wix pages below on 2026-10-29. I did not click through a live Wix dashboard, and Wix changes menus and wording.

I did not confirm the steps for removing a section from a single product on either page version; the help articles I could read only cover the bulk actions. I did not confirm that the “Images and videos” first-field check matches Catalog V1, how many products the dashboard’s bulk actions can take, or that the migration banner still appears. The Wix article for the previous version carries no date.
