Allergen Chart for Restaurants

アレルゲン一覧表(メニュー用)

A Wix app that shows the allergen information you enter as a chart on your site: one card per dish, with Contains, Does not contain or Not entered for each allergen. Visitors can pick what they must avoid and narrow the dishes. A Wix Restaurants menu has no allergen field of its own.

Free for up to 30 dishes. A display aid: it does not detect allergens, and you are responsible for what you enter.

The allergen chart on a desktop screen. A caution note sits at the top, then a filter with shrimp ticked, then one card per dish with 9 pictograms each. Allergens the dish contains are shown in white on red.
The chart on a site (sample on a test site, made-up dishes).

In four lines

  1. The problemYour Wix Restaurants menu cannot say which dish contains which allergen. Labels run out at 5 per dish, and a dish with no label could mean “free of it” or “not entered”.
  2. Where it livesA page in your Wix dashboard where you enter the dishes, and a widget you place on any page of your site to show the chart.
  3. What you doAdd your dishes (import the names from the menu, type them, or import a CSV), set Contains or Does not contain for each allergen, agree to the responsibility note, and place the widget.
  4. The resultVisitors see one card per dish, and can filter out the allergens they must avoid. Anything you have not entered shows “?”, never a blank.

Who it is for

How it works in 3 steps

  1. Add your dishes. If you use Wix Restaurants Menus (new), press “Import from menu” to bring in dish names. Otherwise add dishes by hand or import a CSV. Every new dish starts as Not entered.
  2. Set each allergen. For each dish, mark each allergen as Contains or Does not contain. Before the chart can show on your site, a pre-publish check lists what is still open, such as dishes left as Not entered, and you agree that the content is your responsibility.
  3. Place the widget. Add the Allergen Chart widget to a page in the Wix editor. Changes you save in the dashboard appear on the site shortly after.

What it does

Three states, so a blank is never read as “free of it”

Contains is red and also written out, so it is not told apart by colour alone. Does not contain is a pale cell marked “Not in”. Not entered is a dotted box with “?”.

Visitors filter out what they must avoid

A visitor picks the allergens to avoid, and only dishes entered as Does not contain for every one of them stay. Not entered never counts as Does not contain. The 20 recommended items open from “+ Recommended (20)”.

Three phone screens of the same chart side by side. The left one shows the caution note and a single filter button. The other two show dish cards with the pictograms in 3 columns, Contains in red and Not entered in a dotted box.
On a phone (same sample). The filter folds into one button.

A caution note and a 180-day reminder that stay on

A note above the chart says the restaurant is responsible for what it entered, and that anyone with a food allergy should confirm with staff before ordering. It shows in Japanese and English. If the table has not been confirmed for 180 days or more, a reminder appears too. You cannot turn either off.

Japanese, English, light and dark

Switch the display between Japanese and English and between light and dark. Text is 14px or larger.

What it can and cannot do

  • It is a display aid. It does not detect allergens, does not judge what any law requires, and does not guarantee compliance. The restaurant is responsible for the accuracy and currency of what it enters. This page is not legal advice.
  • The free plan holds up to 30 dishes and uses the Japanese allergen set (9 mandatory and 20 recommended items). The paid Pro plan raises the limit to 1,000 dishes and adds the EU and US sets, CSV export, a print view, text size and a comparison with your menu. The price is on the Wix App Market listing.
  • Importing dish names needs Wix Restaurants Menus (new) and reads dish names only. Sections of the menu are not imported. Without the new menu app, add dishes by hand or from a CSV.
  • The Japanese item list follows the Consumer Affairs Agency's list as of April 2026, which includes cashew nut among the 9 mandatory items. What the list means for a restaurant menu is for your public health center or the agency to say.

Questions

Does a Wix Restaurants menu have an allergen field?

No. Wix's own help center says an allergen section for menu items is not available. This app adds a separate chart: you set Contains, Does not contain or Not entered for each dish and allergen, and a widget shows it on your site.

Are allergens detected automatically?

No. The app only shows what the restaurant entered. Every new dish starts as Not entered, and the chart shows “?” for it so a blank is not read as “does not contain”.

Does it make my menu legally compliant?

No. It is a display aid. It does not judge what any law requires, and the restaurant is responsible for the accuracy and currency of what it enters. A caution note stays above the chart in Japanese and English and cannot be turned off.

Which allergens can it show?

The Japanese set: the 9 mandatory items and the 20 recommended items of the Consumer Affairs Agency's list. The EU set (14 items) and the US set (9 items) are part of the paid Pro plan.

Can I import my dishes from the Wix menu?

If you use Wix Restaurants Menus (new), you can import dish names from the menu with one button; only dish names are read, and orders, customers and payments are not. You still enter the allergen information yourself. Without the new menu app, add dishes by hand or import a CSV (UTF-8 or Shift_JIS).

What does the free plan include?

Up to 30 dishes, with the Japanese allergen set. The paid Pro plan raises the limit to 1,000 dishes and adds the EU and US sets, CSV export, a print view, text size and a comparison with your menu. The price is on the Wix App Market listing.

What can visitors do on the chart?

They pick the allergens they want to avoid, and the chart narrows to dishes entered as not containing every one of them. Dishes that are Not entered never count as not containing.

What is the 180-day notice?

If the table has not been confirmed for 180 days or more, a reminder appears above the chart on your site so an old chart does not look current. Review the table and press “I checked the table” to refresh the date. The notice cannot be turned off.

Is the app in English?

Yes. The dashboard and the chart are in English and Japanese, in light and dark, with text at 14px or larger. Dish and allergen names follow your shop's language setting.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

The chart on your site goes away. The data you entered stays as yours and comes back if you reinstall. To have it deleted, email support@hullspark.com. No personal data is stored.
