Print gift messages, buyer notes and custom fields on Wix packing slips

A customer types a gift message, an engraving or a note at checkout, you print the order for the packing table, and the text is not on the paper. Here is what Wix prints on its own, where it stops, and how to get that text onto the page.

Short answer

  • Wix's packing slip lists the order number, the shipping and billing addresses, the products purchased and your store policies [1]. Its help article names no buyer note, custom field or gift message on the slip.
  • Wix itself has an open feature request for showing checkout custom field replies in printed orders. It says printed orders leave them out and lists no workaround [2].
  • Merchants on the Wix forum have asked for better packing slips, for example without prices and images, and for bulk download [3].
  • Until Wix adds it, the options are to open each order and copy the text by hand, or to use an app that prints it.

The built-in way: print a packing slip

Wix's steps for one order [1]:

  1. Open Orders in your site's dashboard.
  2. Select the order.
  3. Click the More Actions icon and choose Print packing slip.
  4. Click the print icon, then Print.

On the slip: order number, shipping and billing addresses, the products purchased, your store policies. Wix says slips are not available for dropshipping or digital orders, and that pickup and local delivery orders can have one [1].

For several orders, the same article's FAQ says you tick the orders and click Print Orders. It does not say whether that prints packing slips or full order pages [1]. One merchant on the forum wrote that bulk printing from the Orders page includes prices and images they do not want on a slip [3].

The gap: what customers typed is not on the slip

Four kinds of customer text can sit on a Wix order. None of them is in Wix's list of what a packing slip contains [1]:

The effect on the packing table is the same in each case: the person packing the box does not see the message, and someone has to open the order on screen and copy it by hand. With dozens of orders a day, that is where a gift message gets lost.

Wix's request page for custom fields says Wix is collecting votes, and carries Wix's note that planned features and timelines are informational and may change [2]. I could not find a date for it.

One option: print it with the order

Our Wix app, Picking & Packing, builds a picking list and a per-order packing list from your unfulfilled orders. From version 2.0.0 (released 2026-10-29) it also prints the four kinds of customer text above, each with a label: on the packing list under each order, and at the end of the picking list. It reads them from the order and does not change the order. Output is PDF or CSV, made in your browser. A checkbox on the print screen turns the customer input off; it is on by default. It needs no extra permission beyond reading orders.

Questions

Does the Wix packing slip show the buyer's note?

Wix's help article lists four things on the slip: order number, shipping and billing addresses, products purchased and store policies. It does not mention the buyer's note, so do not count on it. I have not printed a slip on a live store to check.

Can I print checkout custom field answers on a Wix order?

Not today, according to Wix. Wix has an open feature request, “Displaying Custom Field Replies in Printed Orders”, for Stores, Bookings and Restaurants Orders (New). It says printed orders leave this information out and gives no workaround.

Can I customize the Wix packing slip?

The Wix help article on printing packing slips does not describe any way to change what the slip contains.

Can I print packing slips for dropshipping or digital orders?

No. Wix says packing slips are not available for dropshipping or digital orders. Pickup and local delivery orders can have one.

Where does the app read gift messages and engraving text from?

From the order itself: the buyer note, the checkout custom fields, the delivery instructions and the custom text fields on each line item. It needs no permission beyond the one it already has to read orders, and it does not change the order.

Can I turn the customer input off?

Yes. There is a checkbox for it on the print screen, and it is on by default. The text can include names and phone numbers, so store and dispose of the PDF and CSV with care.

What I have not verified

I read the Wix help articles on 2026-10-29. I did not print a packing slip on a live store, so “not mentioned in Wix's list” means exactly that, not that I saw it missing.

The screen check of version 2.0.0 on a development site is still pending, so this page has no screenshots of the new feature. What it does is taken from the app's code and its tests, not from a live print. Wix may change its packing slip at any time.
