How to find Wix products with a missing or duplicate SEO title or description

Some products have no meta description, and some share one title. You want a list of them instead of opening every product. Here is what Wix shows, where it stops, and one way to get the list.

Short answer

  • Wix does not flag or filter products with a missing or repeated SEO title or description. I found no such report in the help articles I read. I did not check other tools such as Site Inspection.
  • Why blanks and repeats happen. Wix’s default product title is the product name followed by the site name. The default meta description is blank until you enter one [1]. Two products with the same name get the same default title, unless you changed the default for product pages.
  • The closest tool is the products list. In SEO Settings the Edit by Page tab shows each product’s title tag and meta description, and you can search and sort it [2]. You look for blanks and repeats by eye.
  • For a full duplicate check, a Wix SEO Learning Hub article uses a crawler. A Wix SEO Learning Hub article shows crawling the site, taking the titles and descriptions into a spreadsheet and flagging repeats there [3].
  • Owners have asked about this for years. A forum thread on duplicated meta titles opened in 2018 has no marked solution. The most recent answer I saw, from January 2025, suggests variables [4].
Two checks on product SEO text All products are checked in two ways. A product with no title or no description of its own is listed as missing. Products with the same title or the same description as another product are listed as repeated. Both end in a list you fix. All products Missing No title or no description saved Repeated Same title or same description as another A list of products to fix

The figure shows the two problems. They need two different checks, because an empty field has no text to compare.

What Wix lets you do

  1. Look at the products list. Wix’s SEO guide places it under SEO Settings, in the products section, on the Edit by Page tab [2]. Search and sort the table, and scan the title and description columns for blanks and repeats.
  2. Give every product a rule. Variables let one rule cover many pages, such as the product name and the site name [5]. A rule with only the product name and the site name gives same-name products the same title. Adding a variable that differs between them, such as the SKU, can separate them if each product has its own.
  3. Crawl the site for repeats. The article takes the titles and meta descriptions of all pages into a spreadsheet and flags repeats there [3].

Where this stops

If you want the list

The app Product SEO Bulk Editor loads your products and lists the text saved on each one. Its template boxes start filled in. Clear both template boxes first. Two filters then answer the question. “SEO not set” always reflects the saved text. It shows the products that have no title or no description of their own now. “Empty or duplicate” shows the products where a field you are about to write would be empty, and the products whose title or description is the same as another product’s. A repeat is marked on the row, for example “Same title as 2 other products”.

Two details matter. A repeat is found by comparing the text after your change, ignoring capital letters, extra spaces and full-width or half-width differences. With both templates empty it is the text saved today. With a template filled in it is the text the template would write. A product with no text saved is not counted as a repeat, because there is nothing to compare, and it shows under “SEO not set” instead. The comparison covers the products the app loaded (up to 2,000).

To fix them, write a template with the product name, shop name, brand, category and description as fields (category only on stores with Wix’s newer catalog). The table shows each product’s current text beside the new text, with a length bar. You tick the products to change, and a run can be undone later. Only the title and the description are rewritten. The app does not decide what your text should say, and it does not promise a higher ranking.

Questions

Does Wix show which products have no meta description?

Not as a report. The products list under SEO Settings shows every product with its title tag and meta description, and you look for the blanks yourself.

Is a blank meta description a problem?

Wix’s default for a product meta description is blank until you enter one. Google’s documentation says it mainly uses the page content for the snippet and may use the meta description when that describes the page better [7]. A distinct description for each page is the usual advice, so repeated ones are worth fixing.

Why do two of my products have the same title?

Wix’s default title is the product name followed by the site name. Products that share a name get the same default title, unless you changed the default for product pages. A title you write on the product replaces it.

Does the app find duplicates among products using Wix’s default?

No. A product with no text of its own is listed under “SEO not set”. Only text that is saved or about to be written is compared.

I read the Wix Help Center, the Wix SEO Learning Hub and the Wix Studio forum on 2026-10-29. I did not click through these steps in a live Wix dashboard. Forum posts are not official Wix documentation, and some replies may come from Wix staff. I did not run the app’s CSV or filters on a real store. Its description follows its code as of 2026-10-29. Wix screens and features change. This page and the app are not affiliated with Wix.
